Try It: Train an AI Model in 7 Mins 🤖

(No Experience Required)

Tools: micro:bit + battery pack (like, the $5 CHARGE rechargeable battery pack)

When students train their own AI model, they ✅ see how AI really works, ✅ experience how data shapes outcomes, and ✅ connect AI ethics and representation to real outcomes.

In these hands-on tutorials, educators and students will:

• Collect motion data with a micro:bit (e.g. waving, thumbs up, jazz hands)

• Train a model to recognizes actions

• Test and refine their model to explore how data and bias affect outcomes

As a creative extension, students have the option to use their AI-powered model in MakeCode to control lights, sounds, motors, and more.
