The Smart Hydroponics kit is a growing system that uses the micro:bit to control all aspects of plant maintenance and growth. Students will program the micro:bit to control things like light cycles, water levels, water ph & temperature measurements, and more.
Hardware
Code your own working Hydroponics Growing System
The Smart Hydroponics Kit includes all of the various sensors, lights, and growing supplies to assemble your own working hydropnics growing system - all controlled by a micro:bit!
A micro:bit Controlled Sensors & Pump
LED Light Bar
Control the LED grow light using the micro:bit. Program light cycles and brightness depending on the plant.
Float Sensor
Create a program to set off an alarm on the micro:bit when the water level drops below a specific amount.
Water Pump
Control the circulation of water in the tank or trigger the pump to feed in new water when needed.
pH Probe
Measure pH levels of the hydroponics water using your micro:bit.

Smart Hydroponics Kit Features:
- Control an LED grow light by programming the brightness and on/off light cycles
- Measure and log pH levels of the water
- Monitor water levels with a Float Sensor
- Use a Water Pump to refill the water reservoir or cycle water within the tank
