Toshiba America Foundation (TAF)
Toshiba funds innovative K-12 math and science classroom projects. Teachers apply directly for classroom grants.
About This Grant
The Toshiba America Foundation funds innovative hands-on math and science projects in K-12 classrooms. Teachers apply directly, and projects that show creative, student-centered learning in STEM are prioritized. Two funding tracks cover K-6 (up to $5,000) and grades 6-12 (up to $10,000).
TAF grants are a strong fit for Florida teachers who want to introduce physical computing or coding in ways that go beyond standard curriculum. Projects that give students agency in their learning and show a novel approach to STEM tend to succeed.

Keep in Mind
TAF explicitly funds projects that go beyond the standard curriculum. Show what makes your approach different.
Describe exactly what students will do, not just what you will buy. TAF wants to see the learning experience.
TAF has fixed deadlines twice yearly for 6-12 grants. Missing them means waiting 6 more months.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can private school teachers apply?
Yes. Both public and private school teachers in Florida can apply.
Does TAF fund full classroom sets of kits?
Yes, within the funding cap ($5K for K-6, $10K for 6-12). A classroom set of micro:bit kits typically falls within these limits.
