The Sample Climate Action Kit is a introductory version to the Forward Education Climate Action Kit ecosystem and online Learning Platform. It includes everything you need to build two Wind Turbine projects - two of the many engaging lessons available with the full Climate Action Kit.

This kit is a great introduction for educators to a user-friendly STEM teaching tool that enables teachers to instruct coding and robotics lessons without requiring a computer science background.

With the Sample Kit, you can complete two Wind Turbine Projects aligned with NGSS, CSTA, ISTE (and more) standards for Grade 3-5 or Grades 6-8. 

This introductory experience is designed to get you familiar with coding and robotics using the Climate Action Kit and help you discover how you can connect green careers and purpose-driven leaning with meaningful STEM education!

The Sample Climate Action Kit is available with our without a V2 micro:bit. Please note, at least one V2 micro:bit is required to use the kit.

Do I need a micro:bit to use the Climate Action Kit?

Yes! The micro:bit acts as the brain of all the robotic projects created with the Climate Action Kit. At least one micro:bit is required per kit. Climate Action Kits can be purchased with or without micro:bits. 

Please note, a version 2 micro:bit is required. 

How many kits do I need for my classroom?

We generally recommend a ratio of 1:1 or 2:1 for kits to students.

Alternatively, if you have additional micro:bits, each student can code their own micro:bit and simply swap out the micro:bit on the Breakout Board's edge connector to each test their project code.

What grades can the Climate Action Kit be used with?

The Climate Action Kit is designed to be used with students in grades 3 to 12. The online learning platform contains a variety of projects and lessons designed for each grade.

What does the Climate Action Kit come with?

The Climate Action Kit comes with all of the robotic hardware including sensors, motors, and building blocks to complete a variety of coding projects. 

The kit also includes access to our online learning portal where educators and students can access step-by-step building & coding tutorials.

What content is included with the Climate Action Kit?

You can view our full Lesson Library by visiting our Learning Platform. The Climate Action Kit includes access to all of the available lessons and project content on the Learning Platform.

Orders are typically processed within 1-2 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after your order has been placed. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has shipped.

Pre-Ordered Items

Please note that if an item is designated as a 'Pre-Order' at the time of purchase, the order will not be fulfilled until the product is available. Please refer to the original pre-order timeline indicated on the product listing for approximate order processing time.

Order Tracking

Undeliverable Packages

If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address or other delivery issues, you will be notified and may need to confirm your shipping details for a re-delivery. Additional shipping fees may apply for reshipments.

Returns Policy

Returns

  • Eligibility: To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in its original condition, and in the original packaging. Returns must be initiated within 30 days of the delivery date.
  • How to Initiate a Return: To start a return, please contact our customer support team by submitting a ticket here with your order number and a brief description of the issue. We will provide further instructions on how to proceed.

Refunds

  • Processing: Once your returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your financial institution.
  • Shipping Costs: Shipping costs for the original order are non-refundable. If a return is due to a defect or error on our part, we will cover the return shipping costs.

    Damaged or Defective Items

    • If your item arrives damaged or defective, please notify us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damaged product and packaging. We will arrange for a replacement or refund as quickly as possible.

    Return Shipping

    • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a defect, damage, or an error on our part. We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of returned items.
