About This Grant

Title IV-A (Student Support and Academic Enrichment, or SSAE) is a flexible federal formula grant that explicitly funds computer science, technology, and well-rounded educational experiences. It is one of the most direct federal funding streams for K-12 CS education in Connecticut.

What It Funds

Computer science curriculum and equipment, coding tools, robotics, digital literacy programs, well-rounded education activities, and safe and healthy school programs. Title IV-A is specifically authorized to fund CS education under ESSA.

Who Gets It

Connecticut districts with 500+ students receive direct allocations; smaller districts receive funds through consortia. Contact your district's federal programs coordinator to find out your Title IV-A balance.

Forward Education Fit

Title IV-A is one of the most common funding sources CT teachers use to purchase Forward Education curriculum kits. We provide documentation aligned to Title IV-A's CS and well-rounded education allowable uses.
