About This Grant
Title IV-A, formally called the Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) grant, is a federal formula grant that gives Minnesota school districts significant flexibility to fund technology, STEM, and well-rounded education programs. The law requires that at least 20% of district Title IV-A funds go toward technology and computer science education.
This makes Title IV-A one of the most direct and accessible federal funding sources for CS, coding, AI literacy, and educational technology in Minnesota schools. Districts can use Title IV-A to purchase hardware, software, curriculum, and professional development for CS and STEM programs across all grade levels.
