About This Grant
Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) is a statewide Minnesota network funded by the state legislature to support community energy education and clean energy projects. CERTs Seed Grants award $5,000 to $10,000 to community groups, schools, and nonprofits for projects that teach clean energy concepts or demonstrate renewable energy in action.
Schools have used CERTs Seed Grants to install solar panels with monitoring equipment, build wind energy demonstration stations, create energy audit curriculum, and run community workshops on clean energy topics. Projects that connect students to real energy data and local clean energy solutions tend to score well.
CERTs distributes funding through regional teams across Minnesota. Applications go through the statewide CERTs grants portal. The cycle typically opens in fall or winter each year.
How Forward Education Kits Fit
Forward Education's solar energy and renewable energy STEM kits pair directly with CERTs Seed Grant project goals. Our tools let students measure, monitor, and analyze energy data from classroom-scale installations, which is exactly the kind of hands-on learning CERTs supports.
How Forward Education Helps
Forward Education provides curriculum alignment documents mapped to Minnesota K-12 standards, official pricing letters for grant budgets, and letters of support for your application. Contact us before you submit so we can help you build a strong case.
