Virginia Standards of Learning Alignment: Science, Mathematics, English, and Computer Science

Forward Education's hands-on STEM kits are aligned to the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL): the Science SOL (including Virginia's Scientific and Engineering Practices at every grade), the 2023 Mathematics SOL, the 2024 English SOL, and the 2024 Computer Science SOL. Our alignment uses Virginia's own SOL codes and language exactly as published by the Virginia Department of Education, anchored by our verified Climate Action Kit and CodeCTRL Virginia alignments. Each alignment was built by reviewing individual lesson activities against specific standards, one lesson at a time, across all six products in our kit ecosystem. Teachers in Virginia can confidently connect our resources to the SOL they are already teaching.

How we count: Each percentage reflects how many individual standards are addressed by at least one lesson, project, or tutorial within that product. Because many of our activities are interdisciplinary, multiple lessons may align to the same standard, so your students will often have more than one opportunity to practice each expectation throughout the kit.
