About This Grant
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation funds literacy and education programs in communities served by Dollar General stores. Minnesota schools and nonprofits located within 20 miles of a Dollar General store are eligible to apply for grants that support literacy, reading, and educational access programs.
While the primary focus is literacy, the foundation also funds programs that combine literacy with STEM -- including science books and materials, digital literacy programs, and after-school enrichment programs that include reading and STEM activities together.
Grant amounts and cycles vary by program type. The foundation posts current opportunities on its website. Minnesota rural communities with Dollar General stores are especially good candidates for this funding.
