About This Grant

The Toshiba America Foundation funds innovative hands-on STEM projects for K-12 classrooms across the United States, including Minnesota schools. The foundation runs two grant tracks: one for grades K-5 and one for grades 6-12. Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 depending on the grade level and project scope.

For grades 6-12, the application deadline is October 1 each year. Proposals should describe a specific classroom project that brings math or science to life through hands-on learning. The foundation prioritizes projects that go beyond textbooks and give students direct experience with scientific inquiry and problem-solving.

Minnesota public and private school teachers are eligible. Funds can cover equipment, materials, and supplies needed to run the proposed classroom project.

How Forward Education Kits Fit

Toshiba America Foundation grants are a great match for Forward Education coding and engineering kits. A $1,000 to $5,000 grant can fully equip a classroom with robotics or electronics kits, and our curriculum guides provide the lesson plans reviewers want to see in a strong application.
