Title IV-A - Student Support & Academic Enrichment

Funding Formula-based (varies by district)
Grade Focus K-12
Deadline Formula - Always Available
Level of Gov't Federal

Title IV, Part A provides flexible federal funding for student support, STEM education, and technology integration. Colorado districts can use these funds to purchase CS equipment, coding curriculum, and ed-tech platforms - making it one of the most direct federal funding paths for classroom technology.

What This Grant Funds

Title IV-A has three use buckets: well-rounded educational opportunities (including STEM and CS), safe and healthy schools, and effective use of technology. At least 20% must go to STEM and 20% to technology. Districts can use funds for CS curriculum, robotics kits, coding platforms, and teacher training.

Who Can Apply

All Colorado LEAs receiving Title IV-A allocations can access these funds. Districts with allocations under $30,000 have fewer restrictions on use. Educators should work with their district's federal programs coordinator to understand the available amount and allowable uses.

How to Apply

Title IV-A funds flow through your district's consolidated federal grant application to CDE. Talk to your district's technology coordinator or curriculum director about using Title IV-A funds for STEM and CS purchases. No separate competitive application is required.

Recommended Products

The Coding for Good Kit, CodeCTRL controller with display for micro:bit, and Forward Education Learning Platform all qualify as Title IV-A technology and STEM investments.
