About This Grant
The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (Perkins V) provides formula grants to support CTE programs in secondary and postsecondary schools. Connecticut districts with approved CTE programs receive annual Perkins V allocations through the CSDE.
What It Funds
CTE equipment, curriculum, teacher professional development, work-based learning programs, and technology for approved CTE pathways. Computer science, IT, and engineering technology pathways are directly eligible.
Who Gets It
Connecticut districts and regional vocational-technical schools with state-approved CTE programs receive Perkins V formula funds. Contact your district's CTE coordinator to learn how funds are allocated and spent.
Forward Education Fit
Perkins V is a primary funding source for Forward Education curriculum in CT CTE programs. We provide documentation showing alignment with CTE pathways and Perkins V allowable uses. Common programs include computer science, engineering technology, and IT career pathways.
