The federal Perkins V Act provides approximately $1.4 billion annually to support Career & Technical Education programs across the United States. Colorado school districts receive formula-based allocations to fund CTE pathways including computer science, robotics, and technology education.
What This Grant Funds
Perkins V funds CTE program equipment, curriculum, teacher professional development, student certifications, and work-based learning experiences. Computer science, coding, robotics, and ed-tech pathways are among the most competitive and growing CTE areas eligible for funding.
Who Can Apply
Colorado school districts and postsecondary institutions with approved CTE programs receive Perkins V funding through the Colorado Community College System. Districts without current CTE pathways can work with CCCS to develop new programs that qualify for Perkins support.
How to Apply
Contact your district's CTE coordinator to understand your district's current Perkins V allocation and approved pathways. Funding is accessed through annual Local Applications submitted to CCCS. New CTE pathways require state approval before Perkins funds can be used.
