What Is the Outdoor School Program?
Oregon Measure 99, passed by voters in 2016, guarantees every Oregon 5th or 6th grade student a fully funded outdoor school experience. The program is administered by Oregon Dept of Education. Environmental science, ecology, and hands-on STEM are core components of every outdoor school program.
How Does This Connect to Forward Education?
Outdoor school providers and schools preparing students for outdoor school experiences use STEM and environmental science tools. Forward Education climate science and ecology kits can support pre-outdoor-school classroom preparation and follow-up learning.
Who Accesses These Funds?
Oregon public schools apply through their ESD or ODE-approved outdoor school provider. Funds cover program costs directly. Contact your local ESD or ODE for details.
