Eligibility

Indiana public school districts and postsecondary institutions with approved CTE programs receive Perkins V Basic Grant funds. Reserve Grants are available through a competitive RFP process for innovative CTE projects. All eligible Indiana LEAs receive formula allocations based on enrollment and CTE program data.

Program Goals

Indiana receives federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (Perkins V) funds annually through the Indiana Commission for Higher Education's Office of Career and Technical Education. Basic Grant funds flow to Indiana CTE districts by formula based on enrollment. Reserve Grants are awarded competitively through IDOE RFPs for innovative CTE initiatives. Both streams allow equipment, software, and curriculum purchases for CTE programs that meet Indiana's in-demand industry skills. Equipment and software are explicitly allowable costs under Indiana's Perkins V guidance.
