Computer Science Education Grants (2017-2025)

Funding Historically up to $10,000
Grade Focus K-12
Deadline Uncertain - Last cycle closed October 2024
Level of Gov't State

Colorado's Computer Science Education Grants, administered by the Colorado Department of Education, historically provided up to $10,000 to K-12 schools to launch or expand CS programs. CDE now labels this program "(2017-2025)" and has not posted a new cycle amid state budget pressures.

What This Grant Funds

When active, grants funded teacher professional development, CS curriculum purchases, equipment, and after-school coding clubs. Priority was given to schools with little to no existing CS instruction and those serving underrepresented student populations.

Who Can Apply

K-12 public schools and school districts in Colorado were eligible. Schools with demonstrated need for CS program expansion and a clear implementation plan were most competitive.

How to Apply

The last cycle closed October 2024. While no new cycle has been announced, educators should monitor the CDE Computer Science Education website for updates. In the meantime, consider Colorado's Perkins V CTE funding and the Innovations in CTE Grant as active alternatives for CS program development.

Recommended Products

The Coding for Good Kit and Forward Education Learning Platform are designed for exactly the kind of classroom CS integration this grant historically supported.
