The Colorado Outdoor Equity Grant Program, administered by Colorado Parks & Wildlife, helps K-12 schools and nonprofits connect underserved youth with outdoor learning experiences. It focuses on removing barriers to outdoor participation for communities historically excluded from public lands and nature-based programs.

What This Grant Funds

Grants support programs that provide outdoor recreation, environmental education, and nature-based STEM activities for youth. Eligible expenses include staffing, transportation, equipment, and curriculum development for outdoor learning initiatives.

Who Can Apply

K-12 schools, school districts, nonprofits, and local governments in Colorado may apply. Priority goes to programs serving youth from low-income households, communities of color, or other historically underserved populations.

How to Apply

The 2026 cycle ran an interest form April 30 - June 2, 2026, followed by invited full applications August 12 - September 22, 2026. Awards were announced November 20, 2026. The next cycle is expected to open in April 2027. Monitor the Colorado Parks & Wildlife website and sign up for notifications.
