England Curriculum Alignment
Forward Education's classroom kits are aligned to the National Curriculum in England. Alignments cover the statutory programmes of study for Science, Mathematics and English, and, most directly, the Computing programme of study and Design and Technology, where pupils are taught to design and write programs that control physical systems and to embed intelligence in products using programmable components. Because our kits are built on the BBC micro:bit, the physical computing requirements at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 map particularly closely. Every alignment below was checked statement by statement against the published programmes of study, so teachers across England can see exactly where each lesson fits their scheme of work.
How we count: Each percentage reflects how many individual standards are addressed by at least one lesson, project, or tutorial within that product. Because many of our activities are interdisciplinary, multiple lessons may align to the same standard, so your students will often have more than one opportunity to practice each expectation throughout the kit.
