Forward Education, a leading provider of innovative STEM coding, robotics, and climate education solutions, is excited to announce a statewide partnership with the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units (PAIU) through PA Instructional Media Services (PAIMS). As part of PAIU, PAIMS is dedicated to fostering high-quality partnerships that deliver impactful resources for schools and intermediate units. Through this collaboration, Pennsylvania school districts adopting Forward Education’s Climate Action Kits will benefit from a revenue-sharing partnership with the company to accelerate the implementation of climate-focused STEM education resources that align and enhance STEELS curriculum.
"The Climate Action Kit offers Pennsylvania school districts a unique and valuable resource for enhancing the new STEELS curriculum,” says Sarah Brambley, Curriculum Specialist of Appalachia IU8. “Its alignment integrates STEM concepts with Environmental Literacy and Sustainability, offering hands-on learning experiences that prepare students to tackle real-world challenges. I like that the platform ensures accessible pathways for diverse learners so I know everyone will be appropriately challenged—from beginner coders to advanced students ready to explore critical thinking and problem-solving in climate-focused contexts.”
Forward Education’s Climate Action Kits provide students with engaging, project-based learning opportunities that connect coding and robotics with real-world climate science and technology. Unlike any other STEM resource, the Climate Action Kit uniquely aligns with Pennsylvania’s STEELS (Science, Technology, Engineering, Environmental Literacy, and Sustainability) standards. While other kits may support the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) components, Forward Education’s kit also addresses the Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (EL&S) mandates, making it an ideal tool to enhance STEELS education curriculum across grades 3-12 in Pennsylvania. These kits align with NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and emphasize hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
To ensure districts fully leverage the kits’ potential, Forward Education will provide comprehensive training for participating Intermediate Units, along with professional learning opportunities and ongoing resources to support effective implementation.
“Our partnership with PAIU creates a pathway for Pennsylvania students to develop critical STEM skills while addressing some of the most pressing global challenges,” says Jeremy Hedges, Chief Executive Officer, Forward Education. “By working together, we’re ensuring that educators have access to the tools and support they need to inspire innovation and drive meaningful impact in their classrooms.”
