Title IV-A (Student Support and Academic Enrichment)
Eligibility
All Washington public school districts receive Title IV-A funds. Minimum $10,000 per district. Funds can be used for well-rounded education, safe schools, and effective technology use, including CS and AI literacy programs.
Program Goals
Title IV-A (Student Support and Academic Enrichment Program) funds three priority areas: well-rounded education, safe and healthy students, and effective use of technology. The technology category explicitly supports computer science, coding, AI literacy, and ed-tech tools. This makes Title IV-A one of the most flexible federal funding sources for CS and AI education in Washington.

No competitive application required. OSPI distributes Title IV-A funds to Washington districts annually. Districts create spending plans across the three priority areas. If a district receives more than $30,000, a needs assessment is required. Contact your district Title IV-A coordinator.
Cycle Notes
Annual formula allocation. Districts spending over $30,000 must complete a needs assessment. At least 20% must go to well-rounded education and at least 20% to technology, with safe schools receiving the remainder. Review your district's current spending plan.
Grant Award Amount
