Title II: Supporting Effective Instruction

Eligibility

All Wisconsin public school districts receive Title II, Part A formula allocations. Funds are used to improve teacher and principal quality. No competitive application is required.

Program Goals

Title II, Part A funds support teacher recruitment, development, and retention. Wisconsin districts use Title II funds for professional development, coaching, mentoring, and class size reduction strategies. For STEM and CS education, Title II is frequently used to train teachers in new content areas and instructional approaches.

Application

No competitive application required. WI DPI distributes Title II allocations through the consolidated grant application process. Districts describe planned uses in their application to DPI. Contact your district Title II coordinator for your allocation and allowable uses.

Annual federal allocation. Wisconsin DPI finalizes district allocations in spring. Funds must be obligated by September 30 of the following federal fiscal year.
