About This Grant
The Minnesota Power Foundation supports education, environmental stewardship, and community programs in northeastern Minnesota, the area served by Minnesota Power (part of ALLETE). This includes Duluth, the Iron Range, and other communities in the northeast and north-central parts of the state.
Schools and nonprofits in the service territory can submit grant requests on a rolling basis. Smaller grants are reviewed more frequently, while requests over $5,000 go through the full foundation board review process. Priority areas include STEM education, environmental stewardship, and workforce development connected to Minnesota Power's clean energy transition.
Organizations outside the Minnesota Power service territory are not eligible for this foundation. If your school is in Duluth, Hibbing, Ely, or a nearby community, this is worth exploring.
