About This Grant

Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) awards annual teacher grants to help K-12 educators integrate agricultural concepts into their core subjects. Grants go up to $1,000 and can cover materials, kits, seeds, books, field trips, or other classroom resources.

Projects must connect students to agriculture, food systems, or environmental science in a meaningful way. AITC supports interdisciplinary approaches -- science, math, social studies, and language arts projects are all eligible as long as there is a clear agricultural connection.

The next application deadline is October 15, 2026. Minnesota public and private K-12 teachers are eligible to apply. Applications are submitted through the MDA AITC program page.

How Forward Education Kits Fit

Forward Education's plant science, soil monitoring, and environmental data kits pair well with agriculture-focused classroom projects. Our tools let students collect real data on growing conditions, water quality, and climate -- connecting CS and STEM to food systems in a way that fits the AITC grant criteria.
