About This Grant

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) provides formula grants to ensure students with disabilities receive a free appropriate public education. Connecticut districts can use IDEA funds to purchase adaptive learning materials and assistive technology for eligible students.

What It Funds

Special education services, adaptive curriculum, assistive technology, and supplemental materials for students with IEPs. STEM and coding materials that support IEP goals can be IDEA-eligible.

Who Gets It

All Connecticut public school districts receive IDEA formula funds. Purchases must be tied to IEP goals and serve students with disabilities. Consult your special education director for guidance.

Forward Education Fit

Forward Education's hands-on, multi-modal curriculum works well for students with diverse learning needs. We can provide documentation on how our kits support differentiated learning and IEP-aligned STEM goals.
