CenterPoint Energy Foundation Education Grants
Eligibility
Nonprofit organizations, public schools, and community entities in CenterPoint Energy service areas across Texas are eligible. The Education cycle focuses on programs that expand STEM access, improve literacy rates, or support workforce development for underserved populations. Programs must serve communities within the CenterPoint Texas service territory, which includes the greater Houston metropolitan area.
Program Goals
The CenterPoint Energy Foundation invests in two strategic areas: Education and Community Vitality. Within Education, the Foundation funds programs that expand access to STEM learning, improve literacy, and build workforce skills for residents in underserved Texas communities. The Foundation targets programs with measurable outcomes that improve quality of life and economic opportunity in the areas CenterPoint serves.

The Education grant cycle runs from January to February each year, with applications accepted through the Foundation's online portal. A separate Community Vitality cycle runs June to July. Applicants must align their program to the Foundation's published focus areas and demonstrate measurable impact on underserved populations. The Foundation reviews applications and notifies applicants within several months of the cycle closing.

The 2026 Education cycle opened January 12 and closed February 13. The next cycle is expected in January 2027.
