Colorado's 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program funds after-school and extended learning centers serving K-12 students. The Colorado Department of Education awarded $3 million to 24 centers in June 2024, but no new RFP has been posted as of August 2026.

What This Grant Funds

21st CCLC grants support multi-year after-school programs offering academic enrichment, STEM activities, and family engagement. Programs must serve students from high-poverty schools and demonstrate evidence-based approaches to improving academic outcomes.

Who Can Apply

Schools, nonprofits, and community organizations that can operate after-school programs at or near high-poverty schools in Colorado are eligible. Priority is given to programs with strong community partnerships and demonstrated student outcome data.

How to Apply

When a new RFP is released, applications are submitted through the Colorado Department of Education. Monitor CDE's website for announcements. Cohorts 9-11 are currently funded; a new competition may open when existing cohorts end or new federal funds are appropriated.
