Kansas Standards Alignment: Mathematics, English Language Arts, and NGSS Science
Forward Education's hands-on STEM kits are aligned to Kansas's adopted standards: the Kansas Science Standards (based on the Next Generation Science Standards), the 2017 Kansas Standards for Mathematics, the 2023 Kansas Standards for English Language Arts, and the CSTA Computer Science Standards. Kansas substantially revised its mathematics and English language arts standards, and our alignment follows the Kansas versions, using the standard-by-standard crosswalk published by the Kansas State Department of Education to carry each verified alignment onto the Kansas codes and wording. Each alignment was built by reviewing individual lesson activities against specific standards, one lesson at a time, across all six products in our kit ecosystem. Teachers in Kansas can confidently connect our resources to the standards they are already teaching.
How we count: Each percentage reflects how many individual standards are addressed by at least one lesson, project, or tutorial within that product. Because many of our activities are interdisciplinary, multiple lessons may align to the same standard, so your students will often have more than one opportunity to practice each expectation throughout the kit.
